BREAKING NEWS: CLAN HEAD OF OKU UYO GRANTED BAIL.
………………….His Royal Highness Etebom Enefiok Okpon JP, Clan Head of Oku Uyo had been granted bail this morning by Justice Charles Ikpe of High Court 4, Judiciary Headquarters Uyo.
The traditional ruler who was arrested and charged to court by the authority of the Nigeria Police Force last week Thursday was remanded in prison custody till the early hours of today, Thursday 12th October 2017.
The embattled traditional ruler who was in bad shape while alighting from the Prison Van this morning at High Court 4 was assisted by the Prison Warders to the premises of the court with his subjects and close relatives.
The royal father prayed the court to grant him bail so as to settle down with his immediate family saying that his health condition has worsened.
It will be recalled that the clan head has had a running battle with traditional fathers from seven villages in Oku clan including the neighbouring village headed by Eteidung Gabriel Mbeke who accused him of involvement in an attempted murder and threat to his life, breaching the peace of the area, locking out village council members from Iba Oku village hall, inciting residents of neighbouring villages against the Iba Oku village head, fraudulent acquisition of the community land among other offences.
