ELECTION VICTORY: GOV. EMMANUEL APPRECIATES PDP; PROMISES BETTER DAYS AHEAD
…….Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel has expressed appreciation to members of the State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for their support , which he acknowledged, had culminated to his election as governor as well as victory for the party in the last general elections.
Governor Emmanuel made the appreciation while addressing stakeholders of the party during an enlarged meeting of the party held at the permanent site of the party Secretariat, Atan Offot, Uyo .
He commended the Women, Youths and Elders of the party for their steadfastness and the support that aided his re-election, assuring that the PDP would continue to garner strength in the state and that better days lie ahead for the party.
His words, “I came to assure the women, youths and elders of the party that your labour that brought about the victory of our great party in the last elections is well appreciated.
” My special appreciation goes to the unit champions because every member and office holder form the local to the national level belongs to a unit.
“Today, I stand here as the man elected on the platform of this great party to re-echo my avowed commitment to the Akwa Ibom Project.
“I will channel all my efforts which will be backed by your support to the pursuit and actualisation of the completion Agenda.
“Together, we will make Akwa Ibom the state we will be proud to bequeath to our children and the generations unborn.
The Governor therefore urged the party faithful to be steadfast in their commitment to the party, explaining that PDP is like a religion in view of it followership in Akwa Ibom State.
Earlier, the State PDP Chairman, Obong Paul Ekpo said that the party was satisfied with the performance of Governor Udom Emmanuel in office and attributed the success to the commitment demonstrated by stakeholders to the ideals of the party .
He expressed appreciation to the party supporters for not letting down the trust as demonstrated in the landslide victory of the PDP in the last general elections and assured the Governor of the unflinching support of the party to his administration.
The meeting had in attendance National and State Executive members of the party, serving and former national and state Law Makers, Chairmen of Councils, Party Supporters, among others.
