HOW UDOM SPENDS OUR MONEY SERIES ON AGRO-BASED ENTERPRISES AND FOOD SUFFICIENCY………
In keeping with his avowed commitment towards increased food production and job creation for the lots of the people of Akwa Ibom State, Governor Udom Emmanuel has facilitated the cultivation of Vegetable Green Houses in the State.
Vegeatables with high health benefits rich in vitamins are cultivated in the Green houses including tomatoes rich in puree, bell pepper, egg plants, cucumber and other oriental crops which hetherto could not be successfully cultivated on the soils of Akwa Ibom State.
With increased production of tomatoes in the state, government is not only forcing down the market price of the product but also saving tomato traders the stress of traveling far distances to neighbouring states to purchase tomatoes.
In addition the venture is also opening-up avenues for job creation, wealth creation and other value chain opportunities for the teeming people of the state.
