I WILL FULFILL MY PROMISES TO AKWA IBOM PEOPLE – UDOM EMMANUEL

. . . inaugurates Oron road, Customs road, Market square road and Murtala road, with outfall drains spanning 2 Kilometers.

The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Mr. Udom Emmanuel has assured that he will fulfill his campaign promises to Akwa Ibom people before the expiration of his tenure.

He made this declaration during the inauguration of roads in Oron Local Government Area on Tuesday 25th May, 2021.

Recall that the Governor had at the advent of his administration, visited the Local Government Area and promised to construct roads that will aid the socio-economic life of the people.

Having earlier delivered six high impact roads, he visited the LGA today to inaugurate Oron road, Customs road, Market square road and Murtala road, with outfall drains spanning 2 Kilometers.

Speaking further, His Excellency used the opportunity to debunk the rumours that he was planning to defect to the APC, saying that he was a man of principle, not a fair weathered politician-who is itinerant.

The Senator representing Akwa Ibom South Senatorial district, Senator Akon Eyakenyi who spoke earlier thanked the Governor for fulfilling his promises to the entire Oro nation, expressing high hopes that the remaining challenges facing the people will be handled by the Government.

Others who spoke during the event were the President General of Oron Development Union, Bishop Etim Ante and the Clan Head of Idua, EtteNyin Edet Okon Ekeng who spoke on behalf of the traditional institution.

Bishop Ante commended the Governor for the consistency of his infrastructural drive in Oron stating that the people are happy with the Governor and will continue to support his Completion Agenda while Idua, EtteNyin Edet Okon Ekeng expressed the gratitude of the traditional institution to Governor Udom Emmanuel for fulfilling his promises and staying true to his values of honesty, equity and fairness, conveying their support to the Governor.

The event was well attended by a cross section of stakeholders, youths and women groups.
