………..Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Akparawa Barr Onofiok Luke says the sixth Assembly will continue to partner sociocultural organisations in the state to strengthen the bond of unity existing amongst the various ethnic groups in the state. The Speaker strongly believes that it is only in unity of purpose that the state would be able to attain greater heights.

Speaking in Uyo, Tuesday while delivering his goodwill message during the inauguration of the 10th international President and executive council members of a foremost socio-cultural organisation in Ibibio nation, Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, MMI, Speaker Luke assured that the legislature will give the new leadership of Mboho the needed support that would enable the state achieve its desired goal of a united and prosperous State.

congratulating the new President of the organisation, Akparawa Obong Patrick Udofia and members of his exco on their successful emergence and inauguration, Barr Luke who is also a member of Mboho, expressed optimism that the new leadership will consolidate on the achievements so far recorded by past leaders of the organisation.

“I came here today on behalf of members of the House of Assembly to congratulate the 10th President and all the members of that executive council for their victory and their emergence to steer the affairs of that organisation.
Iam excited to see our brothers from Oron, Annang and other parts of the state who have come here today to witness this inauguration. That means if we unite as a people, we will achieve great things as a state”.
“Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly will support Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio in collaboration with the executive arm and give you the necessary support to enable you succeed in order for us to build a united, prosperous Akwa Ibom”.

Addressing the new leadership of the organisation, Governor Udom Emmanuel who was special guest of honour at the ceremony, advised the organisation to work towards promoting unity in the state, and assured of the support of the state government to enable it achieve its set objective and goals. Represented by the Commissioner for Works, Akparawa Ephraim Inyang, Governor Emmanuel enjoined members of the organisation to give the newly sworn in exco the needed support to enable it succeed.
The swearing-in-ceremony was performed by the State Chief Judge, Justice Godwin Abraham.

In his inaugural speech, the International President, Akparawa Patrick Udofia, an indigene of Afaha Effiat in Etinan local government area, pledged to pilot the affairs of the group inline with the vision and mission of the organisation.
Among those in attendance during the swearing-in-ceremony held at the International secretariat of the organisation at Udo Udoma Avenue include, the Grand Patron, Air Marshal Nsikak Eduok(rtd), Members of the House of Assembly, Members of the state executive council, Members of the House of Assembly, other top government functionaries, representatives of various sociocultural groups in the state, royal fathers, among others.
