IN THE NEWS: GOV UDOM EMMANUEL CONDOLES WITH DROWNED BOY FAMILY
…………….The kind hearted and People-oriented Governor of AKS, Mr. Udom Emmanuel soon on arrival from an official trip outside the state, drove straight to the bereaved family of the late 7 year-old boy, Jerimiah Alphonsus, who drowned on Saturday in a gutter at Akwa Efak by Nsikak Eduok Avenue.
Governor Udom who sympathetic and commiserated with the bereaved father of the deceased, Mr. Ukeme Alphonsus Edet, said the mishap was an accident though very sad and regrettable.
He urged construction companies, especially Julius Berger handling construction work at the site of the mishap to always barricade and cordon-off project sites to avoid accident by pedestrians and forestall future occurrence of such unfortunate mishap.
While explaining his ordeal to the Governor, the bereaved father, Mr. Ukeme Alphonsus Edet, said he is still in shock over the incident but expressed deep appreciation to the Governor for the prompt visit to him at his residence and prayed God to bless Governor Udom Emmanuel.
Gov Emmanuel who was led to the bereaved family by the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Charles Udoh, had in his entourage, the SSG, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem and other members of the state Executive Council.
We join all spirited members of the public to pray God to grant the soul of little Jerimiah Edet, eternal repose in His bosom and the bereaved family, the fortitude to bear the painful loss.
