IN THE NEWS: PDP PRIMARIES: UDOM EMMANUEL EMERGES SOLE CANDIDATE IN AKWA IBOM

…………..Akwa Ibom State Governor Mr Udom Emmanuel today emerged the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP for the 2019 elections through a voting process by delegates at the party’s primary election.
The election which was held at Uyo Township Stadium had in attendance delegates from all the 31 local government areas.
Mr. Udom was announced as the candidate of the party by the PDP election panel Chairman, Ayo Fayose Governor of Ekiti state after a clean swipe of votes cast.
Fayose declared that about 3830 delegates participated in the just concluded delegates election with 10 voided votes. Total votes cast was 3817 while total valid vote were 3807.
In a victory remark after the nomination, Mr. Udom Emmanuel assured akwa ibomites that he was poised to take Akwa Ibom to newer pedestals of people-oriented development while assuring that PDP will do more to move Akwa Ibom forward.
“Through this proclamation you have made through your votes for me today, I am confident that the people of Akwa Ibom State will reaffirm this proclamation in 2019. And together, we will take Akwa Ibom to newer pedestals of people-oriented development in Jesus name”
“Let me thank all of you for this show of Confidence on me. By today’s verdict you are proclaiming that the development of Akwa Ibom State is in the trust of the Peoples Democratic Party. And together, I stand here to promise that we will move Akwa Ibom State forward.”
Mr. Udom Emmanuel emerged the sole candidate of the party at the primaries. Delegates voted in order to fulfill due process requirements!!
