IN THE NEWS: UCCDA Okays commencement of buildings at Martha Vineyard Estate | Ibomplaza News

…The Executive Chairman of Uyo Capital City Development Authority (UCCDA), Otuekong (Prince) Enobong Uwah has given the go ahead for allottees to commence developing their plots at Martha Vineyard Estate as the Authority has put every machinery in place to endure a smooth takeoff of the project.

The UCCDA Boss dropped the hint when led the Executive Secretary, Directors and other Staff of the Board to assess the level of work done so far, in the site, and inspect the internal road network opened up in the estate, which he explained, are well-designed roads that would enable the allottees to access their allotted plots of land to raise structures.

Prince Uwah disclosed that, apart from opening up the internal roads, the State Government is set to provide other social amenities including water and electricity.

Hear him “as a government, our job is to provide infrastructure. Already, we have started providing the infrastructures. The roads’ arteries have been opened up. Now, we will start bringing in power-lines; we are going to bring in water. And very soon, we will start fencing round the entire estate.

Prince Uwah further explained that, the Estate is part of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s Completion Agenda programme, put up for the benefit of the people of Akwa Ibom State. “It’s going to be a middle income estate. What is left is for the allottees to start developing their structures, he said.

While calling on allottees to commence developing their plots, he warned that, the UCCDA will not allow uncontrolled development, maintaining that, developers must get their building plans approved by the Authority and built to stipulation to avoid defacing or breaching the properly designed Estate.

Assuring that, Martha Vineyard will be a model, Prince Uwah said, UCCDA under his watch has returned to its core mandate of developing and controlling development in the Capital city.
He lauded Governor Udom Emmanuel, who he said has strengthened the UCCDA to interpret his vision for a metropolitan city that will be favourable to investors and the industrialization agenda of his administration.

The Estate named after the First-Lady of Akwa Ibom State is located at Ediene Ikot Obio Imo, Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State with about Fifty-four (54) hectares of land.
