INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS GURU, AKAN UDOFIA MOURNS NKANGA | Ibomplaza News
Earlier today, a renowned Nsit Ibom born business tycoon, Mr. Akanimo Udofia, the CEO/Managing Director of Desicon Engineering Ltd paid a condolence visit to the family of Akwa Ibom erstwhile military Governor, late Air Commodore Idongesit Nkanga at his country home, Ikot Nya, Nsit Ibom LGA.
Udofia noted that he is pained by the loss of the former Akwa Ibom Military Governor whom he said worked tirelessly in developing and unifying Akwa Ibom state for great productivity.
Addressing Nkanga’s widow, Mrs. Funmi Idongesit Nkanga, the Canada based serial entrepreneur maintained that he lived for the state: “Your husband lived for Akwa Ibom people, his death has saddened Akwa Ibom people, and Niger Delta. Nkanga’s humility, mixed with his simplicity, was not only disarming but made him a perfect example of that officer and a gentleman.
“I’m here to celebrate and respect him, and I will contribute all I can to help give him a befitting burial. He was a man of peace who represents Akwa Ibom beyond personal interest.”
He implored the deceased family to immortal the departed by exemplifying his virtues.
In her response, Deaconess Funmi Nkanga thanked Udofia for coming to strengthen the family.
She appealed to him to do all what he could as a son of the soil to unify the LGA, as her late husband did throughout his life.
“The peace and unity preached by Nkanga, my late husband, should be replicated at all times,” Mrs. Nkanga said.
Akanimo Udofia fondly called AK-47 was accompanied by, Mr Udeme Etueyen and Obong Hon. Victor Umondak, member burial planning committee.
Present during the visit were, Her Excellency Deaconess Funmi Idongesit-Nkanga, Air Commodore Ekongubong Akpabio, Hon. Eyo Eyo and other members of Nkanga’s family.
