INTERNATIONAL WOMEN DAY : MARTHA EMMANUEL MAKE CASE ON WOMEN IN THE SOCIETY
“Today as women we gather here to celebrate the International women’s day and the resounding victory of my dear husband, Governor Udom Emmanuel.
“When society and the world at large begin to recognise women in places of authority, there will be equality, equilibrium and a balanced society.
“The women especially mother, should learn to start the ‘balance for better’ from the home. Let the boys and girls be taught and trained equally so that when they stand out they can do better.”
“The women in trying to balance for better should respect, and be submissive to their husbands. The advocacy of the equality of women is not to rub shoulders with the men but to make the women occupy positions and give women a place in government, health, education, religion and every area.
“We appeal to the State Government to give women more inclusion in government so that we can have a stabilise society.”
“As women, for us to be recognised, we need to positions ourselves for greatness so that we opportunity arises, we can be called upon.”
“The women need to stop castigating themselves when they are with the men. The women need to understand that equality for women is a right for all women.
“When a woman has money in her pocket, she can never go astray, she will support the family and the society, therefore the women needs to be supported and empowered.”
