MARTHA EMMANUEL BRINGS SUCCOUR REMODELS URUA AKPAN ASIEK MARKET, TOUCH LIVES

The remodelled Urua Akpan Asiek with 124 stalls in Ikot Akpan Afaha, Ukanafun Local Government Area has been inaugurated for businesses purposess.
Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Path-Initiative (FEYReP), a pet project of the wife of governor, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel, And the remodeling project which was undertaken and commissioned today Wednesday 4th March, 2020.
Speaking, the Wife of the governor, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel said she was moved into renovating the market having been briefed of the shanties the traders were using for businesses, pointing out that for any business to thrive, the environment must be condusive.
Recall the popular market which was recently razed down due to restiveness is said to have been in existence for over 100 years.
Stressing that her non-governmental platform, FEYReP will continue to intervene in areas that will better the lots of the masses, and called for more support and partnership from good spirited individuals in this regard.
Dr. Emmanuel while commissioning the project thanked the youths and elders of the local government for collaborating with her pet project in ensuring that the market remodeling came into fruition without any delay.
The governor’s wife later moved to Abak local government area where she commissioned and handed over a well-funished two-bedroom bungalow to the family of Mrs. Patience Monday, a young widow with 7 children in Atai Ediene.
FEYReP shelter of hope project which was done in partnership with the Special Adviser to the Governor on Bureau of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Mrs. Ekemini Umoh saw eminent sons and daughters of Abak such as the State Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo in attendance.
The governor’s wife in her remarks, appreciated the governor’s aide for keying into her vision of providing shelter for the indigent and prayed God to bless her.
Also speaking, the State Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo appreciated Dr. Emmanuel for her positive influence, saying her strides have given hope to many who were lost in despair.
The wife of the State Chief Executive also performed a symbolic presentation to a cross section of youths who were empowered by the governor’s aide with laptop computers and other equipment for businesses, asking that they make judicious use of the items received.
In their separate appreciation, the beneficiaries poured emotional encoumiums on the governor’s wife for her benevolence and as well appreciated FEYReP, for his magnanimity towards them, praying God to bless.
There were goodwill messages from the political stakeholders and traditional fathers of the areas who all thanked the governor’s wife for her sterling qualities and support to the needy in the state, all saying her lofty programmes through FEYReP has touched many lives positively.
