PAT AKPABIO: WHY THE HATE? WHY THE ENVY? WHY THE JEALOUSY?
………………Moral decadence has taken over the world consuming us daily. Conscience has been thrown to the gutters. Nobody cares about their actions and the weight of the lie that they tell just to pull another person down just to be seen or heard. We live a life of pretenses where we hide the truth from the public eye yet we are wounded and bleeding on the inside with haemorrhage needing some divine healing.
It is so sad how we killed, defame characters of people who we hardly know one true fact about, castigate innocent real people and seek to destroy without a second thought what we have no idea about its very existence. We are carried away by our deep greed for the things of this world without taking God into consideration as the Author and finisher.
We condemn instead of praise, we push down instead of lift up, we hate without justification why, the Love for our neighbours has lost value. We carry untrue rumors trying to pollute the minds of others against our follow human beings. We gossip our mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, friends, even our pastors to the hearing of the enemy without a second thought and yet we are Christians, tonguing speaking, sticker sticking, tshirt wearing, rapture ready, holy hands lifting without a blink of an eye.
My question to you who feel you can’t make an income, an honest living without blackmailing, sponsoring character assassination of your fellow human being, propaganda conjuring. Yes! you who just hate because your sister has been blessed and is doing well? Oh did I mention you that is so full of jealousy and envy of that couple because they are living happy while you are miserable consumed by hate for another person’s prosperity, glory without knowing their story; I am addressing you who is living in your world of assumptions how come about they are wealthier than me? Ha! you that wish it should be you and not him Or her. You who can never celebrate a good thing in your Friends’s life. You who can’t sleep at night until you make another to stumble because she shows of too much. He has a better job and I was ahead of him. What do you stand to gain by tearing and talking people down? Does it add any value to your life or will it get you into the kingdom of God? Of what economic value will hating, envying, jealousy add to your very existence on earth?
Have you not read that it is written “For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.” Romans 9:15-16 NIV
We need to sincerely sit down and reevaluate our lives and our very existence here on earth and find the purpose for which God created us because it is far more than exhibiting hate, envy and jealousy for our follow human beings. We need to advocate for more forgiveness and love for each other, for if the trumpet were to sound today! Where will you spend eternity.
Stop the Hate! Stop the Envy!! Stop the Jealousy!!! Increase the Love.
