………………Governor Udom Emmanuel has turned Akwa Ibom State into a tourist haven with the landmark achievements recorded in all sectors of the economy particularly sports, industrialization, tourism, education, health and religion.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Charles Udoh who had spared no opportunity within the week to drum home the landmark achievements of Governor Udom Emmanuel enlisted some of the attractions that have boosted the tourism profile of the state to include the Orange September and Ukapisua fiesta, which thronged in mammoth crowd across the globe to the State, the Free and compulsory basic education which has brought into the state pupils from neighboring states and the international sports stadium, where football successes have been recorded by football clubs all over the world.
Others are the health sector, where over 25 containers of state-of –the –arts medical equipment have been delivered for distribution to secondary health institutions in the state and a Specialty hospital with best referral health facilities that can compete favourably and above its counterparts anywhere in the world as well as religion with the ongoing architectural master piece international worship centre, which will draw religion tourism to the state in addition to the annual Christmas Carol festival which has recorded world recognition and acclaim.
Charles Udoh who appeared on two different Live AKBC TV programmes, “Centre Point” and “Ntiantia Asaka”, emphasized that, Governor Emmanuel is further bringing the world to Akwa Ibom State through industrialization as the largest syringe factory in Africa with a daily production capacity of 1,000,000 is set to roll out the first “Made in Akwa Ibom Syringe” into the global market; the digital metering company in the state and the upcoming flour mill, coconut refinery, plastic factory and the big one, the Ibom Deep Sea Port.
He said in addition to all these, the well maintained Ibom International Airport with a category 2 second Runway underway as well as the Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort being re-energized, with the putting in place of a new management to boost the potentials of the Five Star Hotel are veritable tourism boosters in the state.
Udoh reiterated that, the integrity of the Governor, his sterling business track record and leadership traits are strong factors that have enhanced the success story of the state acknowledging that the enabling environment also provided, including good roads network, power, security, water supply and friendly ambience are milestones that have opened the state to investors.
The Information Boss emphasized that all these milestones and giant strides in the different sectors, coupled with a vibrant society of industrious, friendly, warm and peaceful people, make Akwa Ibom state a choice tourists and investors destination.
