THE DEATH OF JESUS CHRIST SHOULD BE IMMORTALIZED WITH LOVE TO HUMANITY- Governor Emmanuel
The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel has urged Akwa Ibom people who believes in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to use this year’s Easter celebration to show love cum affection to humanity as a point of reflection of his suffering, arrest, persecution and crucifixion at the cross.
Governor Udom Emmanuel gave this charge on Friday during a stage play and exhibition of the death of Jesus Christ as part of activities marking the 2021 Easter Celebration in the state organized by Beautiful Imagination Production in conjunction with Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Culture and Tourism tagged “The Cross Akwa Ima ” at the popular Ibom Plaza, Uyo.
The Governor stressed that Akwa Ibom people should ponder on the lessons of love and sacrifice demonstrated by Christ who surrendered his life, noting that there is need for Christians to uphold these lessons for the future generations.
Represented by the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Hon. Orman Esin noted that out of his love for everyone, Jesus Christ gave his life as a sacrifice while suffering for the sins of people which was because of this gesture that humanity got a fresh start and all their sins were dismissed.
Hon. Orman Esin revealed that Jesus Christ out of his love for humanity died for the remission of our sins, thus the only way we as humans can reciprocate such gesture to immortalize his death is to show love to our fellow human beings at all cost, abstain from evil and embrace what’s right both in the sight of God and humanity.
He hinted that Akwa Ibom which is a State named after God through his superlative grace and mercies, peace and security has been restored will always at very point in time upheld to the ordinances and principles of love most particularly by reflecting it through people’s oriented governance to her people.
Hon. Esin stated that His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel has graciously approved the remodeling of Ibom plaza remodeling adding that changes that would be effected in the aforementioned place will be a world class standard with myriads of economic impacts which will be implemented through a Public Private Partnership model.
He however reminded Akwa Ibom people that His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel has invested humongously towards the development of tourism in the state whom recently Akwa Ibom State emerged as the Nigerian Top Tourist State 2020 in Nigeria at Abuja Jabamah by the Wonders of Nigeria Expo, which according to him is a welcome development in the state.
The event witnessed notable sons and daughters of the state and a special Easter stage drama performance on the story of the journey to the Cross showcasing the arrest, persecution and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
