X-raying Ephraim Inyang Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

X-raying Ephraim Inyang Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

Bassey Samuel Jnr

Indeed, your popularity has soared higher and higher since you came into the political scene of the state a few years ago.

You have remained a city set on a hill, that cannot be hidden. You are a great man with high enthusiast for service delivery and development. This service has attracted many commendations from well-meaning and eminent Nigerians; home and abroad and has earned you so many award from deserving organizations and groups both within and outside the shores of Akwa Ibom state. One of such awards came from the Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics,Ghana. You were decorated with an excellent award in recognition of your immense ability to interpret the blueprint of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Udom Emmanuel as the then Commissioner for Works.

Your commitment and dexterity have pushed you to the world for a national honor and recognition. Your unalloyed determination in helping the Governor to project the state in the world map cannot be overemphasized and will never be forgotten in a hurry.

As usual, one of your works that you swiftly intervened was the unprecedented gully erosion that almost engulfed the people at Calabar Itu road as the then Commissioner for Works. You will never be forgotten in a hurry; I must confess.

Today, while carrying out a study on Students Project Research of International Institute of Journalism Abuja, Uyo study Center, I and a team of others as part of my work had gone to Calabar Itu road which the Federal Government had claimed to intervene. This was done in order to ascertain the level of work done which as at today still remains a dead trapped.

As you all know, Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) does not construct roads; they carry out maintenance. Calabar-Itu highway does not require maintenance, but it requires reconstruction, and we will have to write to the Federal Government and take full responsibility for it.

Also, Abak- Ekparakwa road. This road requires total reconstruction because the road has expired, and it’s a waste of our resources because of the level of traffic we have on these roads.

“We will still be in touch with all federal agencies to see how the State Government will step in. Our people deserve better roads, God bless Akwa Ibom.” It’s part of your undaunted spirit of interpreting the visions of governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel in the areas of world-class infrastructure.

Today, as the Chief of Staff to the Governor, your job is very simple and straight. You have effectively and perfectly coordinated different arms and units of Government at the Hilltop Mansion. Your day-to-day representation of your boss in different capacities has truly proven your doggedness and commitment to the present administration.

No wonder you have command so much influence and undoubted reservoir because of your attitude towards service delivery.
