2020: YEAR FOR THE MANIFESTATION OF GOD’S GLORY, GOV’S WIFE DECLARES | Ibomplaza News
……………..The Banquet Hall of Akwa Ibom State Government House, Uyo, today Thursday, was filled to capacity as a cross section of women gathered for the Monthly Prayer Summit for January with the theme: “Power Belongs to God”.
Led by the wife of Governor, Her Excellency Dr. Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel, the hall was electrified with spirit-filled praise and worship songs to the Almighty God for His benevolence upon the state.
Addressing the congregants, the state First Lady expressed appreciation to God for pulling the state through a turbulent period last year, positing that 2020 is for the manifestation of God’s glory.
“I am very delighted to have you all here worshipping God this New Year. We must agree that God has been faithful to the state, seeing what has transpired in our neighboring state makes us to understand that God loves us so much,” Dr. Emmanuel quipped.
Dr. Emmanuel who also spoke on the upcoming rerun election in Essien Udim, said God’s plan and the will of people would prevail, stating that no gimmicks of the devil will see the light of the day during and after the poll.
She admonished the women to acquaint them-selves with God to be able to receive the blessings He has for them, adding that all enemies of the state would be crushed this year.
The First Lady solicited for continued prayers for the Nation, insisting that the will of God must manifest in the state and the country at large.
In her exhortation, Professor Margaret Bassey who preached on the theme of the summit said all power, authority, energy and dominance belong to God.
Referencing the book of Psalm 62 Vs 11, the clergy admonished Christians not to arrogate to themselves God’s power, stating “there’s an assignment for every position given to all by God to fulfill.”
Special intercessory prayers were offered for peace in the 31 local government areas of the state. Prayers were also offered for the government at the federal and state level as well as the Governor and wife.
In attendance were the wife of the Speaker of the State House, Mrs. Itohowo Bassey, wife of the State Chief Judge, Dr. Emem Abraham, Senator Akon Eyakenyie, wife of Senator representing Uyo, Mrs. Nkiru Albert, Member represensting Ukanafun in the State House, Dr. Charity Ido, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Agriculture, Dr. Glory Edet, wife of Head of Service, Mrs. Uduak Essien amongst other wives of government officials.
