A’IBOM FLOUR MILL TO COMMENCE PRODUCTION IN 12 MONTHS
……………………Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel has performed the ground breaking for the construction of a Flour Mill in Okat, Onna local government area with a charge on the contractor, VKS Nigeria Construction Limited, to ensure that the project is completed on schedule.
The factory, Kings Flour Mill, has the capacity to employ about one thousand five hundred citizens of the state and is expected to commence production within a year.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Emmanuel said that the Mill which is the biggest in Europe in terms of production capacity will provide employment to people of the state and those in neighbouring state.
He called on the people of the area to cooperate with the contractors to enable the project materialise and explained that it value chain would be beneficial to the state and country.
Also, the General Manager of Kings flour mill, Mr Onur Kumral thanked the community for creating enabling environment for investors to operate and particularly expressed delight for the land donated for the project assuring that the mill will commence production in twelve months.
The Onna State Constituency member in the House of Assembly , Otuekong Nse Essien commended the governor for keeping faith with his industrialization agenda which he noted has translated to wealth creation, employment generation and sustainability.
He noted that within two years, the governor has performed creditably and called on the people to support him to deliver on his mandate.
Hon Essien who used the occasion to thank the governor for sponsoring Akwa Ibom sons and daughters recruited in the company for oversea training, expressed optimism that they would bring their wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of their services in the factory
On his part, the Village Head of Mkpok, Chief Ekerette Ufot, described the occasion as a new dawn in the area and assured of his community’s support and cooperation with the company.
Chief Ufot prayed God to bless the Governor and guide him in his task of taking the state to greater heights of development through industrialization.
