BREAKING NEWS: 2019 ENOIDEM PLOTS TO EMBARRASS AKWA IBOM PDP IF…

…………….Having failed in his bid to railroad the Stakeholders of Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency into accepting the zoning arrangement in favour of a particular aspirant from Abak Local Government Area, the National Legal Adviser of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Barrister Emmanuel Enoidem has hatched another plot to stop other aspirants from contesting for the PDP House of Representatives ticket in the forthcoming party primary.
The plot is specifically targeted at Hon. Emmanuel Ekon who is highly favoured by the youths and stakeholders to pick the ticket for the 2019 general election because of his record of performance especially in the last three years as Chairman of the Committee on Local Content.
According to a source, the National Legal Adviser in his latest move has perfected plans to compel the Council Chairmen of Abak, Etim Ekpo and Ika to use the local government funds to sponsor a mass youth demonstration against Ekon with a threat that if the PDP nominates him for another term, they would vote for all candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forthcoming general elections.
At a meeting he held earlier in the week to hatch the plan, Enoidem is said to have expressed concern over the recent closeness of the Federal Lawmaker with Governor Udom Emmanuel and the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio which may give him an advantage to return to the National Assembly in 2019.
The essence of the mass rally according to a source at the meeting was to make the party at the state and national levels to believe that the youths of Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency were against Hon. Ekon and therefore should not contemplate making him a flag bearer for the House of Representatives election.
The source disclosed that the former Commissioner who served under the administrations of former Governor Godswill Akpabio and incumbent Governor Udom Emmanuel between 2007 and 2017 has promised to mobilize enough funds to pay the youths to carry out the rally which is expected to hold as soon as he is able to mobilize those who are willing to carry out the exercise. Barrister Enoidem is also believed to be unhappy with the robust and cordial relationship existing between Ekon and the leadership of the party at the state and national level and has vowed to use every resources within his disposal to stop Ekon from returning to the National Assembly in 2019 even if it means encouraging his supporters and associates to work against the party candidates across board.
He is also said to have gone a step further to issue threats to Chapter Chairmen, Ward Chairmen, Women and Youth Leaders in the three local government areas that allow Ekon to consult them while also vowing to use his position as the National Officer of the party to sanction them.
It would be recalled that the National Legal Adviser had made several attempts to zone the House of Representatives seat to a particular candidate from Abak but met with stiff opposition from the youths who rejected the kangaroo arrangements.
The latest development according to a youth leader from Ika Local Government Area who preferred anonymity is an indication that Barrister Enoidem is gradually losing political relevance in the state adding that he has also lost out in the political game equation at the national level.
He added that the desperation is capable of making the PDP to lose the general election in the state and called on the leadership of the party to call the Legal Adviser to order. “Barrister Enoidem should look at the larger picture of what is happening in his Ward because of his behavior. More people including his kinsmen are defecting to other political parties in his ward than any other ward in the Local Government. That is not good for his image as a national leader of the party,” he said.
