BREAKING NEWS: APC SUPPORTERS ATTACK AKPABIO’S RESIDENCE OVER IMPOSITION

……APC youths in Abak federal constituency Thursday went on rampage at the residence of Senator Godswill Akpabio, vowing to resist his alleged imposition of candidates ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
The youths numbering about 300, rented the air with chants of hostility and prevented Senator Akpabio from leaving his Ewet Housing Estate all through that Thursday.
It was learnt that the APC supporters who are fans of APC House of Representatives aspirant in Abak, Mr Uwem Udoma, ranted abuses at Akpabio’s home which adjourns Don Etiebet’s residence and the Unity Park at Ewet Housing.
They accused Akpabio of foisting Hon. Emmanuel Ekon on them as the candidate of the party, as against Uwem Udoma who was from Abak and had firm control of the party structure in the federal constituency.
It would be recalled that Senator Akpabio had defected two months ago with Hon Ekon, who is seeking a record third term in the House of Representatives.
An eyewitness recounts that Akpabio who was scared following the invasion was said to have called for re-inforcement, which led to more security details arriving, as well as the arrival of DIG Udom Ekpoudom.
This further infuriated the boys who warned the security details that they won’t hesitate to raze the house of the former minority leader if they attempt to use any force on them.
It is alleged that the rampaging boys had earlier paid a similar visit to the gubernatorial candidate of the party on Wednesday, with a message that Mr Nsima Ekere risks losing their support if he continues supporting Akpabio to effect impunity in the party.
The zoning arrangement in Abak federal constituency tilts in favour of Abak local government area, which last produced a representative in 2003 through the Late Ezekiel Anaka.
