Close Ranks – Oku Ibom Ibibio Charges Ibibio Groups

……Ibibio Patriarch, Oku Ibom Ibibio, His Eminence, Nteyin Solomon Daniel Etuk has called on Ibibio groups to close ranks towards the unity of the Ibibio people and the development of Akwa Ibom State.

The Patriarch gave the call yesterday at his palace when Ibibio groups including Ibibio Elders Forum, Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio among other organizations paid him a visit.

The Oku Ibom Ibibio noted that although various Sociocultural organisations in Ibibio land have specific functions, the unity and progress of Ibibio land nay the State should stand out as the fulcrum of their endeavours.

He pointed out that for such to be achieved, it was imperative the organizations unite in order to defend a common interest.

The Patriarch added ” This is a new dawn for our people. You must now think of how to better our lives and that of our fellow brothers. You can’t work in isolation and think you will make meaningful progress. The different organizations we have are like different parts of the body which must work together for the sustainability and progress of the entire body.”

Nteyin Etuk commended Ibibio Elders Forum for holding true to their responsibilities as Elders of the Fourth Largest Ethnic Group in the country.

He thanked them for always showing concern to work in close relationship with the Supreme Council of Ibibio Traditional Rulers.

In his remark to Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, the Oku Ibom Ibibio commended the organization for not neglecting their supportive role as sons to the Monarchs.

Oku Ibom Ibibio insisted that for the group to consists of members drawn from all ethnic groups in the State offers clear indication that Ibibio encompasses all ethnic groups in the state hence the need for dialectical differences to be collapsed.

He charged them to continue working for the unity, peace and development of the Ibibio land and Akwa Ibom State.

Nteyin Etuk offered his blessings to the organization over their plans to inaugurate five chapters of the organization in United States of America coupled with the upcoming lecture and award night.

Earlier in their respective remark, the Chairman of Ibibio Elders Forum, Dr. Okon Uko thanked the Ifim Ibom Ibibio particularly its supreme leader, Nteyin Etuk over the leadership offered the Ibibio people in less four months on the stool.

He offered insight to the fact that the direction the people are beginning to experience gives indication of a positive future for the Ibibio land.

Dr Uko expressed the determination of Ibibio Elders Forum to remain supportive of Ifim Ibom Ibibio stool and also contribute their quota towards the advancement of Ibibio people nay the State.

On their part, the International President of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, Akparawa Patrick Udofia said their organization were appreciative over the fatherly role the Oku Ibom Ibibio played towards a peaceful election in the State.

He pointed out that his successes especially at the critical time of his emergence has given the people hope that his reign will bring peace, unity and prosperity to the people.

While expressing the solidarity of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio to the royal stool, Akparawa Udofia offered insight into the plans and programmes of the organization with expectations of the blessings of Oku Ibom Ibibio.

Other Royal Majesties present on the occasion were Paramount Ruler of Ikot Abasi,Edidem Joe Ntukobom, Paramount Ruler of Eket, Edidem ECD Abia, Paramount Ruler of Ibesikpo Asutan, Edidem Clement Ekpeyong, Paramount Ruler of Onna, Edidem Raymond Timothy Inyang and Paramount Ruler of Udung Uko, Ovong Etim Edet.
