IN THE NEWS: 2019 PAUL EKPO ASSURES GROUPS OF PARTY’S SUPPORT, PARTNERSHIP

……………..Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Obong Paul Ekpo, has assured two socio-political groups of the party’s readiness to support and partner them in the preparation for the forthcoming general elections.
The groups, Peoples Democratic Party National Students Association (PDPNSA) and Peoples Democratic Party Revamp Ambassadors (PDPRA), who were on a courtesy visit to Obong Ekpo at the State Party Secretariat, were lauded for their boldness and zeal to partner the party in the Akwa Ibom Project.
The State PDP Chairman said the party’s commitment towards ensuring that its members achieve their goals was paramount, maitaining that the “leadership of the party is poised to run an all inclusive government where groups like PDPNSA, PDPRA would be included in the scheme of affairs of the party.”
“Let me on behalf of PDP welcome you to the only party that you believe in, the party that you have been voting for and the party that houses the platform that gives everyone equal opportunity to be voted for and vote for. I love to see people who believe in good thing and desire to be part of it. I don’t take this visit for granted. With the ability, zeal and show of solidarity shown us today by the leadership and members of your groups, we can say that you are the great future leaders and that we can count on you.”
Obong Ekpo, who thanked members of the groups, used the medium to task them on the need to ensure that all members and other supporters enroll in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, stressing that they form the fulcrum of the support base for the forthcoming election.
“You are the army of our mandate. Our people must come together and form the army in order to protect the vote and ensure the votes count in the next general election, so that together we can take our mandate at the center,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the groups, the State Coordinators, Mr Emmanuel Udombon and Ambassador Saviour Ukontia, thanked the leadership of the Party under Governor Udom Emmanuel for his sterling leadership approach in mobilizing support across the state, adding that “it is in that spirit that members of PDPNSA and PDPRA, which cuts across all the 329 wards in the state, have come to pay you a visit. ”
“As an assembly of stunt supporters, we want to use this medium to pledge our unflinching loyalty to the party and declare, in totality, our zeal to partner with the party in the Akwa Ibom Project. We also want to solicit for an undiluted support from the Party hierarchy. This will help complement efforts and the much work of the leadership in keeping the flag of the party flying, especially as we prepare for the forthcoming general election,” they said.
The event, which was attended by the state leadership of the Party, featured the presentation of party compendium and calender to the leadership of the group.
