IN THE NEWS: GOVERNOR UDOM HANDS PROJECT VEHICLES TO LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMEN

…………Local Government Chairmen in Akwa Ibom State today officially took delivery of brand new 2018 Land Cruiser SUVs courtesy of His Excellency the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Udo Ekpenyong who made the presentation at Government House on behalf of the Governor said the project vehicles were given to the Chairmen in recognition of the utmost need for grassroots governance. His Excellency the Governor he said deemed it necessary to encourage the council helmsman to perform optimally while maintaining that mobility was necessary for effective service delivery at a critical time as this.

In his response, the Eket council Boss and Chairman of ALGON, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Hon. Frank Archibong expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for the Governor’s kind gesture while commending him for redeeming his promise of giving them work tools. He described the Governor as a man with a good heart given to the improvement of the welfare of the grassroots.

“I beat my chest with pride comparing myself to my colleagues in other States. We have a Governor that stops at nothing in ensuring that life at the grassroot is bettered. For us to continue as Chairmen, its imperative that our Governor returns to the hilltop mansion in 2019. We are tied to the umbilical cord of his Excellency and we must redouble our efforts in ensuring he emerges victorious come 2019 because he has done enough to merit a second term. On behalf of my colleagues i want to say “your Excellency carry go”, he said

Furthermore, he congratulated Hon. Udo Ekpenyong on his reappointment into the State Executive Council while assuring him of the maximum support of the Chairmen stressing that his reappointment was well deserved.
