IN THE NEWS: IBIBIO PATRIACH SUES FOR SUPPORT FOR GOV EMMANUEL OVER PEACE, DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

…………The Patriach of Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio, Ntisong 111, Engr. Essien Ekidem has lauded the prevailing peace enjoyed in Akwa Ibom State, and has thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for the landmark developments witnessed under his leadership.
He said the State in recent times has progressed through the ability of the Governor to attract foreign investors to boost the State’s economy, create employment for the teeming youths, and improve the well being of the people.
The Ntisong Ibibio the 111, stated this when he played host to Governor Udom Emmanuel and members of the Divine Mandate Organization at his palace in Uyo.
He said that God in all times and seasons prepares who He wants on the leadership saddle, and urged the people to treasure the wish of God, and to close ranks and pray for the manifestation of his Divine purpose.
He charged the people to treasure what they have and allow the Governor to accomplish his vision, having started on the right pedestal.
Obong Ekidem said that God has endowed Akwa Ibom with human and natural resources that should be adequately harnessed for the development of the State and prosperity of its citizens.
The royal father said that Akwa Ibom has got stars both in politics and other spheres of human endeavours, which he said should build bonds of unity rather than conspiracy, in order to enhance the age long bonds of unity and love which has always distinguished Akwa Ibom people.
The Patriach cautioned that the interest of the State and safety of the citizens should be paramount, and condemned any act of violence, irrespective of party affiliation.
The Royal father who presented a Bible to the Governor urged him to remain focused, and prayed God to crown his second term aspiration with success.
Earlier, Governor Udom Emmanuel said that his visit was to intimate the Ibibio Patriach of his intention to seek a second term to enable him actualize the vision for the industrialization and development of the State.
He noted that so far almost all the sectors of the State’s economy had witnessed a significant leap, assuring that his second term mandate is anchored on his completion agenda as enunciated in his manifesto.
He said that he is committed to the economic emancipation of the State and that Akwa Ibom has become the most sought after State by Foreign Investors, which is why many more industries are expected to berth in Akwa Ibom soon.
The Governor explained that with the completion of the Intelligent 21 storey office building, which is the tallest in the South South region, many International oil companies would establish their offices in the State and Akwa Ibom youths will be gainfully employed, thereby reducing migration to other States for greener pastures.
He said that Akwa Ibom would continue to sustain the aura of peace as he would collaborate with other nationals to improve the economy and not to defile the State in any way or manner.
Earlier, the DG Divine Mandate Organization, Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga said that the Governor has enjoyed the support of all across the 329 wards in the ten federal constituencies and three senatorial districts, which have been visited on consultations for the second term bid, and thanked the Ntisong Ibibio for his blessings and counsel.
