IN THE NEWS: MARTHA OF WELFARE AND EMPOWERMENT IN AKWA IBOM STATE
………….The Wife of Akwa Ibom State governor, Her Excellency, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel in Ini LGA for the maiden Women’s Day with the theme: “Women’s Empowerment Leads To Equality”.
Mrs. Emmanuel spoke on the need for parents to educate their female children, asserting that equality doesn’t imply competing with the men, but giving opportunities for women to excell in their endeavours.
She also charged the youths of the area against violence, political thuggery and criminal acts, saying the administration of Governor UDOM Emmanuel has no place for such ignoble acts.
As part of the activities of the day, the Governor’s wife also commissioned a staff canteen at the Ini local government secretariat built by the Isreal Idasin’s led council.
