IN THE NEWS: UDOM IN IKOT EKPENE SENATORIAL DISTRICT

………So often the APC media have misrepresented the true perspective of former Senate Minority leader, Chief Godswill Akpabio CON, but if what we read from APC media outlets, that, he laments the marginalization of his District by Governor Udom Emmanuel’s administration , it therefore means that, the Ikot Ekpene Senator needs a little bit of information on the superior performance of Governor Udom Emmanuel in his senatorial District .
The level of development you wrought in Essien Udim and Ikot Ekpene local Government was so fantastic, over 30 roads was constructed in Essien Udim and 22 Roads with street and traffic lighting in Ikot Ekpene Local Government. You built a magnificent relaxation center in Ikot Ekpene (Plaza) and Four Point by Sheraton which was one of your legacy projects. Other Local Government Areas in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District were begging for attention, not a road project was constructed in eight years of your administration in those localities .
It will be reasonable to inform the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State that, Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District is not about Essien Udim and Ikot Ekpene local Government Areas. Sir, as a former leader of the State ,there are local Governments you did not wrought much developmental projects apart from inter-Ministerial and direct labour projects .
A Local Government like Ini, Ikono, Obot Akara , Oruk Anam , Ukanafun and even Abak did not benefit so much from your administration. Governor Udom Emmanuel being so prudent with the management of resources and his careful evaluation of development indices in your Senatorial District decided to embark on developing Local Government Areas that you were unable to impact on.
Ini Local Government Area for example was marginalized during your administration, it may not have been deliberate, but may be, due to unavailability of funds, you couldn’t do more.
When Governor Udom Emmanuel visited Ini Local Government Area during his campaign the major road leading to Arochukwu from obotme was cut into two , truly it was a death trap.
As soon as Governor Udom Emmanuel assumed office, he ordered for the construction 14.1km Odoro Ikpe –Ikpe Ikot Nkon –Obotme and Arochukwu road with 110 meters bridge and as at today, the project is about 80 percent completed.
Governor Udom Emmanuel has also completed the Rice Mill and planted over two thousand Hectares of rice farm and today Akwa Ibom State is going have its own brand of rice, called family rice and over five hundred indigenes of Ini are gainfully employed in the farm and mill .
Apart from the above mentioned development projects, over thirty inter-ministerial projects ,ranging from construction of brand new class Room blocks for schools ,portable water, Rural Electrification and construction of medical centers have been done by Governor Udom Emmanuel in Ini Local Government Areas .
Senator Godswill Akpabio please, may I inform you that Governor Udom Emmanuel has completed and commissioned the 4.6km Nung–Ukim Ikono Road with solar street lighting ,which is the access road of College of Art and science .
Still in Ikono, Governor Udom Emmanuel has remodeled the once forgotten Ikono General Hospital, with four brand new numbers of blocks and reconstruction existing structures. Governor Udom Emmanuel has also reequipped the hospital with modern computerized hospital equipment. Ikono General Hospital is only e-compliance secondary healthcare facility in Akwa Ibom State, with Trauma center, heart machine and dialysis center.
There are so many inter-ministerial projects spread across all the wards of Ikono Local Government, a once forgotten land now a proud community with qualitative healthcare facility.
In Oruk Anam his Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel has constructed three major Road projects, namely, Construction of 23.25 Kilometer of Ikot EkaIde –Ikot Okoro –Ikot Ibritam Road with three Numbers of Bridges ,Construction of 18.95 Km Ikot Ibritam –Ekeffe –Ikot Akpan Afaha Road with one Number bridge ,Construction of 4.95km Ibesit Okpokoro –Ikot Ibritam and construction of 5.1 kilometer internal roads in Akwa Ibom State University , Obio Akpa Campus ,fully completed .
Sir, you will recall that, the most popular General Hospital in the entire Abak 5 , was abandoned to the snakes ,monkeys and reptiles , The first visit of Governor Udom Emmanuel to the supposed secondary healthcare facility , I wept profusely as the entire hospital was covered by weeds , and it was a semi-forest .
We were told a story by one of the Staff Nurse of how a cobra had bitten a Patient to death while sleeping .Truly the place was inhabitable.
Right there, Governor Udom Emmanuel ordered for total rehabilitation and construction of new wards at Ikot Okoro General Hospital , today the health institution is ready for commissioning ,with new Maternity block, Dialysis center , Diagnostic center , two Children wards etc. .Sir, Governor Udom Emmanuel is performing superlatively in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District don’t be deceived .
In Abak Local Government Area ,the Governor has constructed 14 klometer Abak Nsekhe –Ikot Akpa Okuk-Ikot Etim –Ikot Ekara Road ,Construction of 2.5 kilometer Abak Urban Roads ,(Construction of Girls Model School Access Road , Ebong Akpan –Inyang Street and Ikot Obio Odo street) construction of 18.4 kilometer Abak 10 –Nko –Otoro –Manta Road with a spur in Abak ,
In advancement of girl child education in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District and beyond, Governor Udom Emmanuel has constructed and commissioned the Model Girls School, Ikot Ekang .
In Industrialization drive, his Excellency has completed and commissioned the Fertilizer blending plant in Abak ,which you were Special Guest of Honour in that auspicious occasion .
Through inter-ministerial projects, Governor Udom Emmanuel has completed over twenty brand new class room blocks in Abak, while over fifty have been reconstructed and over five thousand desks has been supplied to the schools in Abak Local Government Area .
In Ukanafun ,Governor Udom Emmanuel has constructed 18.95 Km Ikot Ibritam –Ekeffe –Ikot Akpan Afaha Road with one Number bridge, and through inter-ministerial projects, Governor Udom has done massively well in Ukanafun Local Government Area , the prokects are Renovation of 4 Classroom block at GPS, Ikot Akpaidem, Renovation of Assembly hall at GPS, Ukanafun Edem Inyang, Renovation of 4Classroom block at UkanafunEdem Inyang, Renovation of Classroom block at GPS,Ikot Akpa Nkuk, Construction of 3 Classroom block at Ikot Akpa Nkuk, Construction of Civic centre at Ikot Udo Mbang, Provision of solar powered borehole at Ata Essien Ukanafun, Ikot Ekpat, Renovation of Assembly hall at QIC School, Ikot Akpan Idem, Renovation of Classroom block, community secondary school, Urua Ekpa Enang, Renovation of Classroom blocks Government secondary school, Nkek Idem, Renovation of Classroom block, Government secondary school, Nsekhe, Renovation of Classroom block, Government secondary school, Nkek Enen Ido, Renovation of Classroom block, Government secondary school, Nkek Ndon Anan, Renovation of classroom blocks, QIC Central school, Ikot Akpa Nkuk, Ukanafun, Renovation of Classroom block, Western Annang secondary commercial school, Ukanafun, Renovation of Classroom block, Government school, Ikot Odiong, Ukanafun, Renovation of Classroom blocks, Government school, Ikot Etim, Renovation of Classroom block, Government school, Ikot Akai, Uka, Renovation of Classroom blocks, QIC Okojor, Ukanafun, Renovation of Classroom block, Comprehensive high school, Ntak Afaha, and supply of over 2000 number of dual desk.
In Etim Ekpo Governor Udom Emmanuel is Constructing the 22km Azumini –Etim Ekpo –Ika Road , which is the major link road of Ika and Etim Ekpo Local Government Areas.
He has done the Renovation of 4 Classroom Block at St. Anthony primary school, Eka Obong, Construction of Assembly hall block at primary school Utu Nsekhe, Utu Ikot Eboro, Renovation of 3 Classroom block at primary school Obong Ntak, Construction of 3 Classroom block at primaryschool, Utu Nsekhe, Utu Ikot Eboro, Reconstruction of Assembly hall at CSS, Eka Obong, Reconstruction of Classroom blocks at CSS, Eka Obong, Reconstruction of Classroom blocks at primary school, Eka Obong, and supply of 2000 number of Dual desks to the schools in Etim Ekpo Local Government Area .
In Ika, Governor Udom Emmanuel is Constructing the 22km Azumini –Etim Ekpo –Ika Road , which is the major link road of Ika and Etim Ekpo Local Government Areas and through inter-ministerial projects , he has provided Solar powered borehole at primary school Ikot Akpan Offiong, Renovation of Classroom blocks at Government primary school, Udi, Constructionof 4 Classroom block at primary school, Ikot Akpan Offiong, Renovation of 4Classroom block at Government primary school, Achan, Reconstruction of Classrooms at St. Patrick primary school, Urua Inyang, Reconstruction of Assembly hall at St. Patrick primary school, Urua Inyang, supply of 2000 number of dual desk to the schools .
In Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area Governor Udom Emmanuel has done the construction 23 kilometer of Dualization of 25.0 kilometre Uyo- Ikot Ekpene road, he has also Construct of 4.2kilometre Abak Ifia – Ikpe Mbak Eyop – Ikot Abia Osom – Nko road and spurs in Ikot Ekpene and Obot Akara Local Government Areas.
Akwa Ibom State Government has taken Over the Technical College, Ikot Udoe, Ikot Ekpene, and community secondary school, Urua Obo/Ikot Ata – Usung/ Ikot Obong Odoro, Ikot Ekpene,.
In line with his ambition to provide Akwa Ibom people with qualitative healthcare delivery, Governor Udom Emmanuel has Constructed Emergency Operation Centre at Infectious Disease Hospital, Ikot Ekpene, providing Electricity at Essien road.
To boost educational advancement in Ikot Ekpene , Governor Udom Emmanuel has Renovated Exams hall at Goretti Junioruate, Reconstruction of 2 No. 3 classroom block/ office at primary school, Esa Atan, Ikot Ekpene, Construct VIP toilet/borehole at Ikono Park, Ikot Ekpene, and supplied 5000 number of dual desk to the schools.
Obot Akara was once very marginalized Local Government Area by successive Governments and Governor Udom Emmanuel whose ambition is to liberates the oppressed , is ready to spread development to all nook and crannies of the State , he has Commissioned 6.41kilometre Nto Edino – Ekwere Azu road with 2 number of 45m span Bridges and there is ongoing construction of 4.2kilometre Abak Ifia – Ikpe Mbak Eyop – Ikot Abia Osom – Nko road and spurs in Ikot Ekpene and Obot Akara Local Government Areas,
Through inter-ministerial Udom’s Government has constructed Assembly hall at Government secondary school, Ikpe Mbakeyop, undertaken Renovation of 4 Classroom block at Government secondary school, Ikpe Mbakeyop, Construction of 3Classroom block at Government secondary school, Ikpe Mbakeyop, Construction of 4 Classroom block at Ikpe Mbakeyop, Renovate of 4 Classroom block at Methodist primary school, Obot Atan, Renovate of 4 Classroom block at CSS, Ikot Ukana and supply of 2000 number of dual desk to the schools.
In Essien Udim, although one of the most beneficiary of the previous administration in terms road infrastructure, but Governor Udom Emmanuel has constructed Essien Udim portion of 25.0kilometre Uyo – Ikot Ekpene road, 2 Ton/Hour palm kernel cracker in collaboration with CFC/UNIDO/FGN, embarked on the Reconstruction of Admin/ Library/ 4 Classroom block at Government secondary school, Nto Nsek, Renovation of 4 Classroom block at primary school, Afaha Ikot Ebak, Construction of Classroom block at primary school, Okop Akama, Ukana Nuk, Renovation of 4 Classroom block at primary school Ukana, Renovation of 2 Classroom hall at primary school, Ikot Esse, Renovation of 3 No block at General hospital Ikpe Annang, and he has supplied 2000 Number dual desks to the schools in the Area .
In my closing, I wish to inform our Senator of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Chef Godswill Akpabio to always make appropriate finding before making speeches to his people . As speeches can incite tribal hatred among tribes in Akwa Ibom State .As a father no matter the political divide he now finds himself ,let his reasoning not be compared to a man who wish to instigate violence in the State but a leader want to unite Akwa Ibom .
A careful reading of this article will make one to think, if in only three years, not minding the paucity of funds and recession Akpabio’s new political party has ruined Nigeria with, Governor Udom Emmanuel can perform to this extent in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District,if he was receiving funds to the region of 40 to 45 billion as when Senator Godswill Akpabio CON was a Governor , Gov Udom would have done more .
