*Speaker Condemns Thugs Invasion of Senate Chambers
*Charge eligible voters on PVC collection.

The Speaker Rt. Hon. Barr Onofiok Luke and members of the Akwa Ibom State House from Uyo Senatorial District has ratifies the endorsement of Governor Udom Emmanuel and Sen. Bassey Albert for second term come 2019.
The ratification took place during the constituency briefing and empowerment programme of senator Bassey Albert, Senator representing Akwa Ibom Northeast in the National Assembly (Red chamber) which held at Uyo township Stadium recently.
According to Mr. Speaker, “If the Elders have all endorsed Senator Bassey Albert OBA and Gov. Udom Emmanuel for a Second term, we cannot sing in a discordant tune, we State House of Assembly Members in Uyo Senatorial District have also endorsed Sen. Bassey Albert and His Excellency Mr. Udom Emmanuel for a second term”.
Again, we in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly came together with the understanding that the Governor can not touch the entire Akwa Ibomites at the same time, so in order to extend the reach of the Governor, we have embarked on a massive Empowerment of our people with the aim of mobilizing support for the Governor and also the Party” he asserted.
According to Barrister Luke, Let me categorically state here that there is no special budgetary provision for Constituency Empowerments which we have massively embarked on through our salaries just for the love of our people.
In reactions to the recent invasion of the Legislative Chamber of Nigeria Senate the Speaker said, On a serious note, we totally condemn the invasion of the Senate by miscreants, and therefore call on relevant authorities to bring the culprits to book.
While congratulating Senator Albert on the successful hosting of the event, the Speaker also commended him for seeing the need to report progress back to his people whose mandate he was graciously given.
He also boasted that constituency briefings have become an Akwa Ibom thing unlike in other states adding that it is only PDP that can exhibit such gestures.
Barrister Luke further urged the crowd and the entire Akwa Ibomites to go and get registered in the ongoing continuous voters registration exercise by INEC while rallying round Gov. Udom Emmanuel and return him for a second term because of his good works which has been seen by everyone in the state.
