RE: IMPORTANT PUBLIC NOTICE: MISSING PERSON
RETRACTION/ APOLOGY TO MR AKAN OKON, HON. COMMISSIONER FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND IBOM DEEP SEAPORT
We want to put to the notice of the general public, our recent publication on the story of the arrest and detention of the CEO/ Editor-in-Chief, Mr Samuel Bassey Jnr. by the Hon. Commissioner for Economic Development and Ibom Deep Seaport, Mr Akan Okon is not factual having heard from the Commissioner directly and we hereby retract our the publication in its entirety.
Although the Commissioner acknowledged having a meeting with Mr Bassey Samuel but said he doesn’t have any issue with him, that could warrant him to call for his arrest.
We tender our unreserved apology to the Hon. Commissioner, Mr Akan Okon on whom the story touches directly, and any inconveniences the publication has caused him.
We will continue to hold the Hon. Commissioner, Mr Akan Okon who is helping to drive his Excellency’s completion agenda in highest esteem while pledging our unalloyed loyalty to him.
