SENATE 2019: OBA GETS NOD FROM IBESIKPO ASUTAN
***Says second term performance will surpass first term
……….The Second term Senatorial aspiration of the Senator representing Akwa Ibom North East at the National Assembly, Senator Bassey Albert has received a massive boost as the people of Ibesikpo Asutan local government area have given nod over his candidature.
The nod which was given today when the Uyo Senatorial district Senator visited Ibesikpo Asutan Ward 1, 2 and 4 in his ongoing ward to ward campaigns witnessed the people of the area declare their stance to not only pray for his success but join hands to ensure he gets massive votes at the February 16 poll.
In his remark, the Political Leader of Uyo Federal Constituency, Prince Uwem Ita Etuk noted that since Senator Bassey Albert has performed creditably coupled with the fact that he is the unanimous candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, the people of the area are poised on supporting him to emerge victorious at the polls.
Commenting on the strength of PDP in Ibesikpo Asutan, Prince Etuk added ” My Distinguished Senator, yesterday, the greatest opposition Leader in Nung Udoe, Aniema Brown defected to the PDP. My duty will be to traverse the length and breadth of our communities to sustain our support and victory for the PDP at the general elections.”
While calling on the people to protect their votes, he advised ” Any police that infiltrate your unit to carry ballot boxes, ensure you capture them in video. They are fake policemen. Don’t leave your unit. Be bold in protecting your results. We will overcome their rigging”.
Also speaking, a political bigwig in the area, Rt Hon T. O Akpan said that Senator Albert’s performance has earned him a second term hence the reason Ibesikpo Asutan people will celebrate excellence through their votes for the Senator.
He added ” OBA is the only person protecting Ibibio interest despite pressure from different quarters. Ibibio is the first Son in Akwa Ibom State. No one else should decide our next Senator for us. OBA is our choice. For Governor of Akwa ibom State, we stand with Governor Udom Emmanuel because he is the best .”
On the part of the Senatorial aspirant for Uyo Senatorial district in the recently concluded PDP primaries, Obong Ikpe Obong, Senator Bassey Albert has represented the Senatorial district effectively thus deserve massive support.
He said that what stands him out is that his representation cuts across the Senatorial district especially as he has been noted to speak on issues concerning the State.
He added “OBA has filled the gap following the exit of former minority Leader from the party. Because of his effective representation, we have to vote OBA and other PDP candidates for the good of all.”
In his remark, the House of Assembly Member, Ibesikpo Asutan State constituency, Rt Hon Aniekan Uko noted that the people of Uyo Senatorial district are proud of the representation of the Senator. He noted that the Senator’s return to the Red Chambers of the National Assembly will be an answer to the prayers of the Senatorial district hence the reason the people will stand by him.
The Ibesikpo Asutan representative added “God makes leaders, we can only identify with a party that has our collective interest, the PDP. Distinguished Senator, let me assure you, Ibesikpo Asutan will march out to our units, we will match them power for power, votes for votes. We will vote for quality representation, we will vote OBA back to the Senate”.
In response, the Peoples Democratic Party Candidate for Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District, Senator Bassey Albert thanked the people of the area for the massive show of love he has witnessed through their support.
He equally thanked all the aspirants who contested against him for standing by him during the campaign stressing that their gesture has heightened his confidence over what will be the outcome of the polls.
Senator Albert added ” All the people now in APC came out of PDP. A son can not beat the father. As Ibibio people, we know what happens to a son who tries to carry his father and throw up. It will be disastrous to such a child.
” If i can do what i have done in just my first term, you are not seeing nothing yet. My second term performance will surpass first term. Among the candidates, you all know that I am the best. And as a people, you deserve the best.
” There is no APC in Akwa Ibom State. We are telling INEC that a time has come to show to the world that they can conduct free and credible election. I have to thank the people of Ibesikpo Asutan again. You have shown me so much love. On my honor, I will not disappoint you.”
