Senator OBA’s scholarship scheme: 381 beneficiaries laud Benefactor | Ibomplaza News

Beneficiaries of the on-going all school expense scholarship till graduation programme numbering about 381 Undergraduates since commencement from different public universities across the country, powered by Distinguished Senator Bassey Albert representing Akwa Ibom North East in the 8th and 9th Senate have expressed their appreciation to their benefactor, Senator Bassey Albert (OBA) for what they described as an unparalleled scholarship by him for the youths.
Speaking with newsmen in Uyo on Friday while receiving their school fees payment acknowledgement for the semester expressed their gratitude to the Senator for his large heartedness.
One of them Emem iniunam, a Pharmacy undergraduate of the University of Uyo said ‘’I’m just wondering what my story would have been if not for this rare intervention by Senator Albert (OBA) because now with ease l pay my school fees and pick up the bills at school, l can only say that God continue to bless him in all his pursuits’’.
Another beneficiary, Henry Thomas also studying pharmacy at UNIUYO described his benefactor in superlatives ‘’Senator Bassey Albert to me is a rare gift to this generation which l’m privileged to be part of his enormous goodwill attested to by many Akwa Ibom people. Here is a man who is unassuming despite his achievements, people and development driven, a five star lawmaker passionate about the youths of Akwa Ibom, a witty leader and a courageous supporter of the downtrodden’’.
Samuel thanked the Senator for being this kind to the younger generation.
Akpanuto Ememobong Ibong of the Department of Computer Engineering, UNIUYO puts his appreciation to the loving Senator this way ‘’OBA is so charismatic, youth friendly, generous, humane, resourceful, dependable, a speaking Senator and hope of the youths’’.
He appreciated God for creating a human being in the mould of Senator Albert who is always thinking of the well being of other people.
Several other beneficiaries who also bared their minds extolled the excellent human relationship very typical of Distinguished Senator Albert and called on other politicians to emulate him. The beneficiaries include:Ita Queen Akwaowo, Medicine and Surgery-UNIUYO, Idongesit Bassey Ansa, Petroleum Engineering UNIUYO, Oduduima Asuquo Asuquo among others.
Recall that Senator Albert (OBA) on assumption of office right from his first term had declared his scholarship open were over 800 applicants came for an aptitude test which was co-ordinated by Lecturers from the University of Uyo , marked the scripts thereafter at conference immediately thereafter and shortlisted the best 130 undergraduates based on the merit of their performances during the first term and additional 251 were added with the commencement of his second term.
The beneficiaries are all drawn from Akwa lbom State have since thereafter been enjoying the scholarship programme which will last till their graduation.
They cautioned the Senator’s traducers to stop sponsoring propaganda and blackmail against him as Senator OBA is a celebrated politician and public servant worth emulating else they will go on their knees and ask God to reward them for their years in public life without any reasonable impact on humanity.
