Uyo Senatorial District will Support The New PDP Leadership – Senator OBA
……….The Senator representing Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Bassey Albert Akpan has assured the newly elected People’s Democratic Party Executive in Akwa Ibom State of the commitment of his people to achieve the set ideologies of their leadership.
Senator Akpan said this on Thursday at the Nest of Champions during the State Congress of the Party where Hon. Udo Ekpenyong polled a total of 3,840 votes to emerge as the new State Chairman.
“Our Party today has consolidated on the gains of deepening Democracy with the successful conduct of the State Congress that has ushered this new State Executive. The People of Uyo Senatorial District remain committed to the template of the new leadership of Hon. Udo Ekpenyong. He has shown strong character as a team player and i believe he will take the Party to new heights”.
The lawmaker who is the leader of the Akwa Ibom State Caucus in the National Assembly further stated that the Party has over the years been a platform that has provided the dividends of democracy in the State and urged the people to continue to support its activities.
He commended the outgoing leadership of Obong Paul Ekpo describing him as a trail blazer and loyal leader who steered the affairs to great heights in his eight years on the saddle.
“I want to commend the immediate past leadership of Obong Paul Ekpo for the milestones achieved and for making the Umbrella in the State bigger and stronger. His legacies will remain evergreen”, he said.
“The people of Akwa Ibom State have kept faith with our great Party, and we remain committed to giving our utmost support in driving the success story of this new leadership. We will work as loyal Party members on the paths of our unity, progress and growth”, he reassured.
He also commended the leader of the Party, His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel for his visionary strides and laudable achievements and reaffirmed his commitment to the success story of the Completion Agenda.
“We have a Governor that God has blessed the State. We are proud of his achievements. Akwa Ibom people must give His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel all the support to succeed. I am proud of his milestones. The renaissance in all sectors has been a reference for excellence and we know our State under his dynamic leadership will usher more developmental programmes”, he said.
