BREAKING NEWS: A’Ibom GOV UDOM PAYS WORKERS JANUARY 2018 SALARY
…………………….At a time when so many states are grappling with backlog of unpaid salaries ranging from five to eight months, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel has completely paid the January 2018 staff salaries even before the end of the month.
This act by Governor, which is in demonstration of his avowed commitment to ensuring enhanced welfare for the workers, culminated into the payment of January salary along with the annual increment to workers.
Reacting to this development, the Head of Civil Service, Mrs. Ekerebong Akpan, has, on behalf of the entire workers, expressed appreciation to the workers-friendly Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, for this demonstration of sincere concern to the well being of his work force.
According to the Head of Civil Service, this timely payment will, in no small measure, ease the usual financial difficulties always faced by workers in the month of January as a result of spending during the Christmas Festivities. Mrs. Akpan, who explained that salaries were released as at 23rd January, 2018,affirmed that workers from various Ministries, Departments and Agencies were surprised, excited and relieved on getting the January, 2018 salary alerts and many have even called to register their appreciation and commendation to the state government.
The Head of Civil Service, Mrs. Ekerebong Akpan, thanked God for His grace upon the state and called on workers not to relent in their dedication to duty and support to the Governor to reciprocate government kind gesture and to enable government achieve more for the workers and the state.
