GOV UDOM EMMANUEL APPOINTS ELDER EFFIONG ESSIEN AS NEW HEAD OF SERVICE
Governor Udom Emmanuel has approved the appointment of Elder Effiong Edem Essien as new Head of Service.
A release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ekerete Udo, indicates that Elder Essien takes over from Mrs Ekereobong Akpan who had retired from service on the midnight of May 29, 2019.
Elder Essien is a graduate of Geology from the University of Calabar and a Fellow of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (FNMGS).
He is also a Council Member, Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (Past)
Member, Nigerian Association of Hydrogeologists (MNAH),
Registered and Chartered as a Geologist by Council for Mining Engineers and Geoscientists (COMEG).
Essien served as Director Geology, Ministry of Works and as General Manager Akwa Ibom State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (AK-RUWATSAN) from 2007 to 2016.
In January 2017, Elder Essien was appointed Permanent Secretary, Akwa Ibom State Government and posted to Ministry of Works.
Essien hails from Afaha Atai, Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area.
He will be sworn in at a date to be determined.
