AKAN OKON TASK ITU PEOPLE ON UNITY
*As Group vows to support Gov. Emmanuel’s 2nd Term Bid
……………………….Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Housing and Special Duties, Mr Akan Okon has charged the people of Itu Local Government Area on the need for peaceful coexistence, as a prerequisite for development.
Mr. Okon gave the charge during a meeting of the Transformation initiative held at the Kennedy Ekong Hall, Itu Local Government Secretariat, Mbak Atai, Itu LGA.
Speaking further, the Commissioner said all hands must be on deck, to ensure that things work out properly in the Area, hinting that the people of the area are peace loving.
While Commending the Governor on his giant strides in Itu, Mr Okon thanked the people for the support they have accorded the Governor, before and after his emergence and said equity and fair play must have its way in the Area.
“I am very happy to be here this afternoon, thank you for the role you played for Governor Udom Emmanuel to become our governor in 2015 and I am sure we will stand by him again in 2019.
“We are determined to make sure things works out properly in this Local Government, equity and fair play must come to play.”, he said.
The Commissioner said Governor Emmanuel is concerned about those at the graasroot, maintaining the people of the Area will not be confused in the composition of a new Transition Committee.
“With Our Amiable Governor Deacon Udom Emmanuel, we won’t run into confusion ,the Government of Udom Emmanuel is a government for the Grassroots.”
“We are peace Loving people that’s what we are known for”, Mr Okon added.
He lauded the Executive and members of Transformation Initiative for believing in the Governor’s mandate.
Highpoint of the event was a unanimous decision by the group to support the Governor beyond 2019.
