I Am In The Race To Win And Give A’Ibom Rewarding Leadership – Senator Bassey Albert

The most preferred governorship aspirant in Akwa Ibom State, under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Albert Bassey Akpan, has reiterated that not only was he in the race but to win and give the state a rewarding leadership.

Addressing a crowd of teaming supporters at the OBA Multi-purpose Event Complex, along Airport Road, Uyo on Saturday, May 14, 2022, Senator Albert described himself as “the last man standing” in the race to the Hilltop Mansion, the official residence of the Governor.

Senator Albert said he was unperturbed about sponsored blackmails, intimidations and negative propaganda, but remaining resolute and focused towards achieving the aspiration of serving the state, as massively desired by the people.

Amidst thunderous ovation, the People’s Senator assured them that on May 23, 2022, he will win the PDP governorship primary, affirming “We are in this race to win…and God is leading us to win”.

Recalling his gargantuan stance to remain in PDP in 2019, when all other Akwa Ibom senators decamped, the Senator said Governor Udom Emmanuel was so overwhelmed that he had to nickname him: “OBA, the last man standing.”

“I am still the last man standing! I am in the race to win and offer selfless and rewarding leadership to the state,” he added.

He debunked insinuations that he will defect from PDP, wondering why he should do that when he remains the most popular and accepted aspirant in the party.

OBA assured his supporters that he will hit the ground running as their next governor. “I will start working from the first day in office,” he said.

Albert encouraged his supporters to remain steadfast, committed and resolute and not to be deterred by sponsored intimidations or swayed by propaganda.
